A sharper view.
A quieter echo.
Place exactly four dishes along the rail. Spread them out to resolve close sources, but avoid evenly spaced patterns that create bright false echoes. Meet both beam limits, then certify your array.

Gold: beam power · blue: half-power line · shaded: central lobe. Lower false echoes make a more trustworthy image.

How this array works
Each dish is one unit-amplitude sample on a 16-pad rail. A real 256-point FFT computes the complex far-field amplitude; its squared magnitude is normalized beam power. Half-power width is measured in Fourier bins. Sidelobes are measured outside the first aperture-scale angular region. This simplified coherent one-dimensional array omits noise, Earth rotation and calibration. Six skies change pad closures and resolution requirements.
